Each year the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission prepares around 1,000 hot Thanksgiving meals to needy men, women, and children in the community.

The group partners with the Shreveport Community Church to deliver 650 meals to area shut-ins, elderly, and individuals with disabilities.

"Out volunteers and our staff really work hard to bring people the taste and feel of a home cooked meal. It's a really great feeling to come together," Rescue Mission's Sarah Artis said.
