The City of Shreveport didn't issue any public statements regarding Thursday's sick-out by customer service representatives with the Water & Sewerage Department.

A spokesperson with the Mayor Cedric Glover's office says they are treating the eight people who called out Thursday as being ill.

The city did issue a notice saying, "citizens with questions or issues related to their water services should expect some delays today after eight customer service representatives called in sick this morning."

Officials with the Water & Sewerage Department have put an emergency plan in place to restore operations to acceptable levels of service.

Mayor Glover did address the 32 person sick-out by solid waste employees earlier this week saying it was his duty to make sure the needs of Shreveport residents are met on a daily basis.
