Friday morning World War II veteran and retired Marine Corps Master Sgt. Ray Urban, Jr., spoke to students in Laura Jorgensen's and Jo Carter's English classrooms.
Urban, a Bossier Sheriff's Office Posse member, served in the Marine Corps in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
The 93-year-old veteran shared real-life experiences of military men and women who served in battle. He also encourages young people to honor their country and be thankful for what they have.
Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington said, "Men like Ray Urban are what make this country great. He served his country for so many years in the military and now serves his community as an outstanding Posse member. He exemplifies patriotism, selflessness and dedication to duty, and it is a tremendous blessing to know he is sharing his experiences with our young people."
