From small children shoveling stuffing, to elderly enjoying conversation, coffee, and a slice of pumpkin pie.
Shreveport's Salvation Army feeds more than 1,000 people in need this Thanksgiving.

It's one of the largest Thanksgiving outreach meals in the ArkLaTex. Expect a scoop of tradition, topped off with a hot plate of generosity.

Having a warm place to come together is just one small blessing that touches not only the lives of those eating, but volunteering their time on this holiday.

"It's the spirit of Thanksgiving. To come together and just share this meal and know that it makes a difference. Whether the people are homeless or just lonely, it feels wonderful to help," Salvation Army Maj. Cherry Craddock said.
