Senator talks about improving K-12 education

A local lawmaker stops by the ARKLATEX to talk about improving education.US Senator David Vitter was at South Highlands Elementary school this morning to host a leadership forum.The forum featured discussions on state and local curriculum such as reading lists, improving early grade reading skills, and skills training in high school.  The forum was attended by local education professionals, state officials and community members from across Shreveport-Bossier area. In total, Senator Vitter will host five different leadership forums around the state to discuss K-12 education. Besides being a Louisiana Senator, Vitter is also a candidate for Governor of Louisiana in 20-15.
