Sexual assault suspect arrested

Texarkana, Texas police arrested a suspect in a sexual assault just minutes after responding to a suspicious persons call.


Antonio Cochran, 33, was taken into custody following a traffic stop.


The suspicious persons call came in around 10 p.m. Wednesday relative to a suspicious person in the 500 block of Madison Avenue.


When officers arrived, they were advised by a witness that a suspicious vehicle, silver mustang, had just left the 500 block of Madison Avenue.

Officer Bo Carter found the vehicle in the 100 block of Akins Street and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle was occupied by two people. Officers made contact with the driver -  Cochran - and a 17-year-old passenger.

The passenger asked to exit the vehicle and at that time advised the officers that Cochran had just sexually assaulted her.

Officers had the suspect exit the car and located suspected Methamphetamines in plain view. Cochran was arrested for Sexual Assault and Possession of a Controlled Substance under 1 gram
