Shreveport Fire Department has nine units fighting a house fire in the 1700 block of Anna Street in the Allendale neighborhood.

Neighbors say the house was empty.

The fire was called in just before 4 o'clock.

The home was vacant at the time and it took firefighters about an hour to put out the flames.

Shreveport fire department Battalion Chief, Bubba Dunn, says the fire is suspicious.

“There no sign of anybody living there or anything of that nature but it's definitely suspicious when you have a vacant house that’s not hooked up to utilities," said Chief Dunn.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
