Authorities are releasing the name of a man killed earlier this week in a reported home invasion in west Shreveport.
Sirdarren D. Jackson, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene of a home invasion in an apartment in the 4000 block of Golf Links Boulevard early Wednesday morning.
Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the apartment at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday. Upon their arrival, officers found Jackson suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
A resident of the home, identified as Tyrell Jackson, 20, had a grazing gunshot wound to the head and was transported to University Health Center by the Shreveport Fire Department with non-life-threatening injuries.
Based on information and other evidence gathered during their ongoing inquiry, detectives believe Jackson and Lonnie Johnson, 19, entered the apartment and attempted to rob the occupants.
At least one of the two suspects exchanged gunfire with at least one person in the residence and, as a result, both Johnson and Jackson were wounded.
Johnson apparently fled the scene of the crime and was apprehended as he was leaving a home in the 2500 block of Midway Avenue Wednesday. With him were Demarcus D. Morris, 24, Eric J. Anderson, 22, and Christopher Williams, 25.
Anderson, Williams and Morris were booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count each of accessory after the fact to attempted armed robbery while Johnson, who is still receiving treatment at University Health Center, was charged with one count of attempted armed robbery and one count of attempted first degree murder.
During the search of the home on Midway Avenue, investigators located evidence linking the suspect Johnson to another home invasion in the 7200 block of Bernstein Avenue that left Kamesia Martin, 28, severely injured with two gunshot wounds. She now is recovering at a local hospital.
Detectives believe the residences on Bernstein Avenue and Golf Links Boulevard were specifically targeted by the offenders.
