Texas fugitive captured in Natchitoches Parish

A man wanted for sexually assaulting a teenager in Texas has been arrested in Natchitoches.

On Tuesday Natchitoches Sheriff's deputies received information that Texas authorities were searching for John Larned, Jr., 26, in connection with the Aggravated Sexual Assault of a 15-year-old girl.

After a brief investigation they learned Larned was working in Natchitoches and tracked him to a home in the 2600 block of Johnson Chute Rd.

When deputies arrived Larned, who was armed with a gun, attempted to flee through the back door but was taken into custody a short time later without incident.

Investigators also searched the home and seized marijuana from one of the bedrooms.

Larned was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center and charged with 1-count of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Juvenile in Wise Co.-Decatur, Texas, 1-count of Aggravated Assault of a Juvenile with a Deadly Weapon in Wise Co.-Decatur, Texas.

Larned was also charged with 1-count of Illegal Possession of a Firearm by a Person convicted of a Felony, 1-count of Possession of a Firearm during a Narcotics Offense, 1-count Possession of CDS Schedule I Marijuana and 1-count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in Natchitoches Parish.

Larned is currently awaiting extradition to Texas.
