There are no surprises so far when it comes to local elected officials coming forward for their interest in the 2014 race for Mayor of the city of Shreveport.
Recently state rep. Patrick Williams showed his interest, and now today Sam Jenkins Jr. and Michael Williams both say they will be a part of the mayoral race.

Jenkins is an attorney by trade and a member of the Democratic party. Previously he served as a Caddo Parish Commissioner before entering into his current seat on Shreveport city council. He believes that his experience and willingness to work with other agencies is the key to continuing to push the city in the right direction.

Caddo Parish Commissioner Michael Williams is also a Democrat and has served District 3 since 2012. He says his experience as a business owner and fire fighter give him an advantage. His focus highlights treating the city like a business.
