Woman escapes from alleged rapist after being stabbed with scissors

A Natchitoches man is behind bars, after allegedly attempting to rape a woman inside his residence in the 1500 block of Pauline Street in Natchitoches.


Kenneth Wafer, 57, was arrested and placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.


The victim contacted police after she escaped and ran across the street. When police arrived, they located the victim across the street from where the alleged crime took place. She was suffering from a stab wound in the hand and was in need of assistance.


The female indicated her assailant was a man named Kenneth Wafer, and said he stabbed her in the hand with a pair of scissors and had attempted to rape her. She added stated she had been able to escape with just her pants on and ran across the street for help.


Officers located Wafer at his residence at 1513 Pauline St. and, after an initial investigation arrested Wafer on one count of Sexual Battery, & one count of False Imprisonment.
