Motion to allow public vote on Caddo Confederate statue fails

CADDO PARISH - Caddo Parish Commissioners rejected a motion that would have allowed the public to vote on the removal of the Confederate statue from in front of the parish courthouse.

The vote on the motion failed 5-7. 

Commissioner are still debating the fate of the statue after a lengthy public comment session.

The citizen's advisory committee recommended keeping the statue at the courthouse.
