Voters will decide on a ballot measure that could save the future of Texarkana College, but at a cost for taxpayers.
Since 1927 only people living within a few miles of the school have had to support the college with higher property taxes. If approved the ballot measure will widen that area to include all of Bowie County.
The school says it needs the money.
Fifteen months ago the school was losing $800,000 a month.
If voters decide to go for the annex...the school says the typical taxpayer will be taxed an additional $8 per month.
