How dirty is your money?

A new study finds that your cash is covered in bacteria. Sarabeth Ackerman reports.

What's green and white and filled with germs? Your cash.

Researchers from New York University's "Dirty Money Project" found that there are hundreds of bacteria lying all over our cash.

Most people we spoke to said it's not surprising because of how many hands those bills actually go through. Some even admitted that they're not even thinking about it.

"You think about all the hands that it goes into and drops on the ground; picks it up and hands it over to the next person. Money is dirty, very dirty," says Kelli Seideman.

The best advice we can give you, is to wash between paying.
