A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a shooting that claimed the life of a local man.

It happened last Friday night in west Shreveport.

On April 11, 2014, Shreveport Police were called to investigate a shooting that occurred in the 3700 block of Valley View Drive.

Following the shooting, the victim, 30-year-old, Tyrone Youngblood of Shreveport, died.

He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

Since the deadly encounter, Shreveport Police Homicide Investigators have worked to bring those responsible to justice.

Authorities previously arrested 18-year-old Derrick Thomas, for his alleged role in the shooting and has since charged him with Second Degree Murder.

Thomas remains jailed at the Caddo Correctional Center.

On Wednesday (4/16), investigators found and arrested the Thomas' father, 34-year-old Derrick Clark.

Authorities say there was evidence gathered that linked him to the shooting.

They add, the information suggests Clark may have participated in the destruction of evidence connected to the murder of Youngblood.

Clark was arrested yesterday morning at a home located in the 700 block of Bernice Circle in Shreveport.

Following his arrest, Clark was taken to the Shreveport City Jail where he was booked.

The investigation into the murder is ongoing.
