LSU Health Shreveport says it will conduct its own internal investigation into allegations of long wait times and scheduling conflicts for those without insurance.
University Health made those allegations in a letter, after performing an internal audit of their own practices.
According to the letter, a consultant determined the hospital was not compliant in regards to those issues while they were under the umbrella of LSU Health Shreveport.
They also allege those with insurance were given preferential treatment and seen by faculty.
Those without insurance were seen by residents.
LSU Health Shreveport Vice Chancellor for Clinical Affairs, Dr. Hugh Mighty says that's not the case.
Earlier today the CEO of University Health said multiple investigations from outside parties confirmed what internal audit revealed.
Also, clinic staff members admitted these practices had been in place for years, hospital officials say they're working to correct the issues.
University Health is currently working collaboratively with the state of Louisiana and the appropriate federal regulatory agencies to fix clinic operations.
