A local bank is giving back to the community and helping students get ready for school.
It's part of Capital One's ‘Place Base Initiative’ in the Martin Luther King neighborhood.
They're holding a back to school bash for elementary through high school students at cypress landing apartments.
Kids could pick up school supplies donated by the associates and bankers of Capital One Banks around Shreveport Bossier.
"We're investing $100,000 just this year in the MLK neighborhood as part of our place-based initiative here in MLK and this back to school bash program is just part of what we're gonna do throughout the year in the neighborhood," Says Chris Haskew with Capital One.
Over 60 kids received school supplies today.
This is the first time the event was held in the MLK neighborhood.
