An Air Force family gets an unexpected surprise when baby comes early! On August 30th A1C Timothy Pledger's deployment to Guam was delayed. But that put him in just the right place, at the right time.
The young father was at home with his daughter Jordyn and pregnant wife Alex' Andrea, when baby number two decided to come early. Alex' Andrea says she wasn't due for two weeks and had secretly wished Zoey would be born while dad was still home, but she didn't expect her wish to come true... like this. "When I realized I wasn't going to make it to the hospital with Zoey I panicked but Tim was really calm he got me through it," the mom says. She went into labor so quickly EMS workers couldn't get to her in time. But fortunately a dispatcher on the phone helped Tim safely deliver their baby girl.
Mom and daughter are doing fine, thanks to dad and a delayed deployment they know was sent from above.
"God knew what was going to happen and knew i needed to be here," Tim says via Skype. Oh yes, he's currently in Guam. He deployed a few hours after delivering his daughter, although its a moment he'll never forget and a bond that means Zoey will surely be a "Daddy's Girl" for life.
