The James K. Elrod (JKE) BizCamp Recognition Banquet will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2014, 7:00 pm at Horseshoe Casino and Hotel (River Dome) in Bossier City, LA. There will be a pre-meet and greet reception, an art exhibit and Total Choice providing live music entertainment at 6:15 pm for attendees to mingle with Banquet Honorees and our spectacular speaker Pam Atchison, Executive Director of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC). This is the 14th anniversary year for the BizCamp Summer Entrepreneurship Training Program. The JKE BizCamp Recognition Banquet honors community members who have had a positive impact on the social and business aspects of our community and its residents, especially our youth.

This year's theme is "Imitation of Life - BizCamp Honors Digital Media in the Arts". Our banquet speaker SRAC Director Pam Atchison, is currently endeavoring the management of a creative place-making effort that places Artists at the helm of generating vibrancy in the newest "old" Cultural District in downtown Shreveport through the revitalization of the nine-block area known as Shreveport Common. The Inner City Entrepreneur (ICE) Institute, a local nonprofit organization has selected Ms. Atchison as the Key Note speaker for the JKE Recognition Banquet as a tribute to the art's industry in the community as it relates to digital media. The JKE Recognition Banquet will honor the emerging market of film production, art, and digital media, here in the Shreveport/Bossier area. The special banquet honorees for this year are: Lampton Enoch of Moonbot Studios-- "ICE" Award, Diego Martinez of Millennium Studios-- "President" Award, and Gregory Kallenberg of LA Film Prize-- "Board" Award. In addition, the exceptional "Community" Award will be given to Henry Price of Caddo Parish Schools and Brady Blade of Blade's Studio. The sponsors of this year's banquet will be Willis Knighton Health Systems, United Way of Northwest Louisiana, Caddo Parish Commission, Verizon Wireless, Whilhite Electric Co., Keith Hightower of Holmes Auto Group, David Raines Community Health Systems, SWEPCO, Fire Tech Systems, WTAA Engineers, Chesapeake Energy, and Lamar Advertising. Partners of ICE include Southern University Louisiana, Job Corp, Caddo Parish School Board, and Centenary College Frost School of Business.

The Banquet is used to fund scholarships for area students, especially those at-risk to attend the James K. Elrod BizCamp Summer Entrepreneurship Program. BizCamp is an entrepreneurial education and life skills training program created in 2001 by the ICE Institute, in affiliation with local colleges and universities and area parish schools.
