It's golfing for a cause, and you are invited to play.

On Monday, June 9th, the first-ever "Golf Scramble" will be held.

Teams of four will try and win prizes for things like longest drive and hole-in-one.

The event aims to help fund the Bossier Sheriff's Young Marines Program.

"We know folks like to play golf, that'll be an exciting time," said Lieutenant Bill Davis. "But when you think about what the benefit is of this whole program, and of this whole golf tournament, it's the Young Marines. It's those young lives that'll be impacted. If we can affect the youth of today, we can impact our leaders of tomorrow."

The event starts at 12pm at the Palmetto Country Club.

NBC 6 News will be there swinging for the cause as well.

Teams of four are encouraged, but singles are invited and welcome to attend.
