The Shreveport Bossier African American Chamber of Commerce held its annual meeting at the Horseshoe tonight.
They awarded Bonnie Moore, Director of the Shreveport Office of Community Development,The John H. Wilson Trailblazer Award.
Moore received the award for her heroic climb from being homeless to helping others.
“This honor bestowed on me is an humbling acceptance," says Moore.
Also honored, Chief Judge Carl E. Stewart with the Herschel Brown Civil Rights Award.
For 17 years, he was the only African American to serve in the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.
