New efforts help military students transition into local schools. 10% percent of students in Bossier Parish schools come from military families.

To help them transition anti- bullying programs along with one-on-one counseling sessions are now available. The district also added a military transition consultant.

A "Purple Up Celebration" will be held next Friday at Cope Middle school at 1:30pm. They urge people all month to wear purple to support the military child education coalition.
