Elementary Archery Team becomes World Champions

For the first time in Louisiana, an elementary school archery team comes home world champions.

The 2014 National Archery in the Schools Program World Tournament was held over the weekend in Madison, Wisconsin.

It was the first time the team went to compete in the three-day event.

Some were nervous, but Head Coach, Perry Norcross, said his team looked strong, confident, and relaxed as they hit their target.

They competed against 30 teams from all over the world (including: Africa, England, and Canada). 

At the end, the Benton Elementary Archery Team placed 1st, making them World Champions.
