Fire officials say Stoner Avenue fire was arson

The Shreveport Fire Department is investigating the cause of a two-alarm fire that had several crews responding in the over-night hours.

It happened in an abandoned building along the 100 block of Stoner Avenue just after 12:30 a.m. Monday.

The on-scene commander upgraded the incident to a two-alarm fire when the flames began spreading to the second floor.

Dozens of firefighters responded to the call. The blaze was  extinguished around around an hour after crews arrived.

According to the Shreveport Fire Department, one minor injury was reported. A firefighter is being treated for a sprain.

Investigators believe the fire was intentionally set. and the investigation is on-going.
