Parkway graduates come together to help one of their own Saturday afternoon.

Dana Bailey Coya graduated from Parkway High School in 1995. She was a standout on the softball field, and Miss Parkway High School 1995. She went on to become a teacher, and missionary.

Now, the mother of four has skin cancer which has spread all over her body. She also has two sons with cystic fibrosis. The family just moved back in town from Florida to be closer to family. To help her and her husband with medical expenses, her former classmates held a fundraiser.

"It’s just a tremendous blessing, just feeling the love and support of friends from high school, 18 years ago, coming out, traveling long distance, spending long hours preparing this big event for us and we’re just so grateful,” said Dana Bailey Coya.

Organizers said an anonymous donor gave a $10,000 check; overall, the fundraiser brought in more than $20,000 for the family. If you'd like to help the family, you can drop off a donation at ANECA Federal Credit Union. The account name is the "Benefit for Dana Coya. "
