Volunteering can make a huge difference, especially when it's a family affair.

"It's exciting for all of us," said Marvin Williams.

The Williams family brings joy to others.

"It's important to volunteer because we receive so much," said wife Shelita. "We get so much in life and I want to teach our kids that you have to give without expecting something."

Every month, the family of four host game night at Providence House.

"We do what we call 'Jabbo Bingo,'" said Marvin. "It's just like Bingo, but it's Jabbo! It's just fun being around people smiling and it's exciting."

Staff there say Jabbo is more than a game.

That the Williams family make it a night to remember.

"It's hard to describe how important it is, the joy they bring," said Director of Programs, Rhonda Watts. "Every time they come, everybody gets all hyped up and they're smiling and they're happy. Whatever that short amount of time is, there are no cares, there are no troubles, there are no concerns only fun."

"It's always good to give back," said Marvin. "We just try and stay active in the community."

Which is why this week's Gold Medal Giver is the Williams Family.

If you'd like to nominate a local volunteer as a Gold Medal Giver, send their name and where they volunteer to NBC 6's Jade Cunningham at
