The Krewe of Harambee get ready to hold their 9th annual MLK Day/Mardi Gras Parade.

The parade always coincides with the observance of Martin Luther King Junior Day because they want to celebrate and promote unity in our community.

Starting at 8am is the Martin Luther King Hope and Dreams Breakfast in which scholarships will be given to students who have been accepted into college.

It's open to the public and is $15 at the Petroleum Club.

The parade starts at 1pm.

It's expected to be the biggest and best year yet for the parade.

The parade will begin at the Municipal Auditorium on Elvis Presley Avenue going east on Milam Street, through downtown Shreveport and back to Elvis Presley Avenue.

There will be floats, bands, marching groups, drill teams, queens, kings, youth groups, sports' teams, etc.
