The threat of severe weather didn’t stop the Krewe of Highland from rolling through town earlier Sunday.
The parade started an hour earlier than normal at 1 p.m. Hundreds came out to enjoy the neighborhood parade catered to children. Beads, cups, toys and even hot dogs were flying through the air.
"Well we wanted to try and come out here and catch it before it started to rain. It was a nice day and we wanted to get out of the house,” said Stepheno Pomerlee, of Bossier City.
The King of the Krewe of Highland this year is Andy Shehee. The Queen is Victoria Provenza. The parade lasted for about three hours.
