Northwest Louisiana law enforcement agencies kicked off the 2014 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Louisiana on Friday with a ceremony.

The annual run raises money for Special Olympics Louisiana and helps promotes this year's Special Olympics Louisiana Summer Games that will take place at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana on May 23-25, 2014.

The law enforcement runners will carry the State Special Olympics torch from Northwest Louisiana and will pass it off to runners from other law enforcement agencies all along the route until it reaches its final destination in Hammond in time for the start of the state games.
