LDWF announces closing date for Greater Amberjack Commercial Season

The  Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries announced Thursday that the 2014 commercial fishing season for Greater Amberjack in Louisiana state waters will close at 12:01 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25.
Following a review of current landings, data indicates the 2014 Gulf of Mexico commercial quota of 409,000 pounds will be harvested by Aug. 24.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced that federal waters will also remain closed to recreational and commercial Amberjack fishing for the remainder of 2014.
