LINCOLN PARISH (KTVE/KARD) -- Ruston firefighters confirmed to KTVE/KARD a tank fire at a Lincoln Parish well site they've been battling all afternoon has been contained as of Thursday evening.

Firefighters said the fire broke out Thursday afternoon at a well site near the intersection of Louisiana 563 and Sunshine Road, a few miles north of Simsboro.

Ruston FD said fire departments from Lincoln Parish, Homer, Jonesboro and Clairborne Parish all converged on the fire.

Firefighters said the blaze was contained as of 7:30 p.m. They said the fire is still burning but it is controlled.

No injuries or evacuations were reported in the blaze. Firefighters said they have been aiding in traffic control blocking off the road to the well.
