A "one thing leads to another" investigation lands 12 in jail for drugs, robbery and theft

BOSSIER CITY, La. - What started out as an investigation into recent armed robberies has resulted in multiple arrests and solved a few unrelated criminal cases in Bossier City.

So far, twelve people including three juveniles have been booked on a variety of charges including armed robbery, auto theft, narcotics and obstruction of justice, among others.

While in the process of developing leads last week into some armed robberies that have occurred over the past few months detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit began uncovering information on other cases including a string of recent auto thefts.

That had detectives with the Violent Crime and Property Crimes Units pooling their resources together over several days which resulted in a domino effect of arrests.

As a result the following individuals have been arrested:

* Damonta Johnson, 17, of Bossier City – three counts of armed robbery with a firearm.

* 16-year old male of Bossier City – two counts armed robbery with a firearm, theft of a motor vehicle and illegal possession of stolen things.

* 16-year old male – two counts armed robbery, theft of a motor vehicle and illegal possession of stolen things.

* 16-year old male of Bossier City – armed robbery with a firearm.

* Darvious Kelly, 19, Bossier City - three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

* Miquela Morris, 19, of Bossier City – three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

* Heather Strickland, 28, of Bossier City – three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

* Keyuntae McHenry, 19, of Bossier City – illegal possession of stolen things and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.

* Coby Barron, 17, of Bossier City – obstruction of justice and possession of marijuana.

* Juan Dykes, 18, of Shreveport – obstruction of justice.

* Dionte Winn, 17, of Bossier City – three counts of auto theft, illegal possession of a stolen firearm, possession of ecstasy with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of illegal narcotics with a firearm.

* Diondrick Winn, 21, of Bossier City - illegal possession of a stolen firearm, possession of ecstasy with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of illegal narcotics with a firearm and resisting.

Detectives say more arrests are expected in connection with these cases.
