BOSSIER CITY - As students get ready to go back to school in Bossier Parish, many families need help affording the items necessary to send their children to class, ready to learn.
Bossier Schools is deeply appreciative to Northpoint Community Church, which is hosting the Bossier Back to School Outreach from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 22 at Plantation Park Elementary School at 2410 Plantation Drive in Bossier City.
Free uniforms and school supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to students attending schools in north and south Bossier.
The goal this year for the Bossier Back to School Outreach is to assist 1,500 students with uniforms and supplies. Letters were sent home with Bossier Parish students, who were suggested by school counselors, prior to the end of academic year 2016-17, inviting them to the outreach.
They will be helped before the outreach opens to the public from noon to 2 p.m. A guardian must be present with each child receiving uniforms and school supplies.
They must also show valid photo identification.
In addition to Northpoint Community Church, participating sponsors include: Ice House, Porter’s Cleaners, Walmart, Albertson’s, Sam’s Club, Christ Fit Gym, McAllister’s Deli, Ta Molly’s and Old Navy.
For more information, please contact Clarrissa Stephens at Northpoint Community Church by phone (318) 742-9565 or email at email@example.com.
