Burglars charged with animal cruelty

Shreveport, La. -

 

Investigators worked through the week to conduct follow up investigations into residential burglaries reported in the 3000 block of Hoyte Drive and the 9500 block of Alicia Lane.

 

On September 13, 2017 Property Crimes Investigators discovered evidence that they believe connected Sumner and Horton to both burglaries to include the injuring and killing of the pets that were at these residences. Investigators were able to recover at least three stolen firearms and other items taken in the home burglary

 

Horton was charged with two additional counts of Aggravated Burglary and two counts of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals.

 

 

Sumner was charged with two additional counts of Aggravated Burglary, two counts of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, and three additional counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
