Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator announces promotions

CADDO PARISH, La. - Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator has announced the promotions of Mark Gay to lieutenant and Zachery Thomas to sergeant.

Gay and Thomas will be recognized during a ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, at the Re-Entry Facility on Forum Dr.

Gay joined the Sheriff’s Office as an EMT in 1992. He has also worked in the Corrections and Bailiffs divisions. With his promotion he will serve as the lieutenant in the Court Liaison Division.

Thomas joined CPSO as a security deputy in 2010. He has served the past seven years at the Caddo Correctional Center and has also volunteered as an instructor at the CPSO Youth Firearms Safety Education Camp. He is being promoted to shift sergeant in Security.

Also during Tuesday’s ceremony, several employees will receive recognition for their years of service with the Caddo Sheriff’s Office.

They are Marc Herring and Kelli Hayes, five years; Richard Robinson, Jr., Judy Thomas, and Phyllis Nickels, 15 years; Brad Acklen, Victor Bordelon, Anthony Gaines, Sr., Randal Terrell, Mike Vaitkus, Kimberly Rosborough, and Garladen Stroy, 20 years; and Mike Gregory, 30 years.
