Daughter speaks out after her mother's car crashes into the Shreveport Duck Pond

SHREVEPORT, La - A short car ride takes a turn for the worst for one family, after the car crashes into the Shreveport Duck Pond killing a mother of four.

40-year-old Megan Victoria Brown was involved in a three car accident off Kings Highway just before seven Monday night.

Taysha Leftridge the daughter of Megan Brown says, "when they said she had a wreck, like I was thinking someone just hit them, they okay, they just at the hospital, I would of never thought nothing like this, she would be gone."

Police say her mother's car swerved off the road before falling into the Duck Pond.

"She had a seizure, she hit two car's and she plunged in a duck pond."

According to Megan's family she had a history of seizures'.

"She had seizure's, she had one before, woke but she wasn't driving so we just thought like she wasn't go have another one not another but."

There were four people inside of Brown's car, two of her four children, her mother and her niece all made it out of the water safely, with the help of strangers.

"I'll like to thank them for doing that for mean, they really didn't have to save my sister, my cousin, my brother and my grandma, even though they couldn't save everybody they did save them."

 Brown's  21 year old daughter says the loss of her mother is especially hard.

"I lost my daddy when I was three so, my momma was all I had."

The other two drivers involved were taken to University Health with non-life threating injuries.
