SHELBYVILLE, Texas (KETK) - The Department of Public Safety is investigating a school bus crash that left one person injured in East Texas.
The accident happened Monday afternoon on SH 87 in Shelby County.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the Shelbyville ISD school bus was stopped with red lights activated and unloading students.
A car traveling south on SH 87 reportedly crested a hill and attempted to stop, but slid into the northbound lane and
struck the front of the bus.
The driver of the bus has been identified as Marla Denby, 54, from Shelbyville.
The driver of the car has been identified as Matthew Gamble, 16, also from Shelbyville.
A passenger with Gamble was transported to a hospital in Center, Texas for possible treatment.
This crash remains under investigation.
