UPDATE: East Texas man missing since mid-May has been found

MARSHALL, Texas (KETK) - UPDATE:

An East Texas man who authorities reported had been missing since mid-May has been located.

On Tuesday, Lt. Jay Webb with the HCSO reported Knox was found in Overton and is "well and living in Gregg County."

The case has been closed.

 

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Harrison County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help locating a missing man.

According to Lt. Jay Webb, Daniel Leroy Knox, 54, was reported missing on May 17. He reportedly texted a friend he was home from a trip to Little Rock, Arkansas, but he has not been seen or heard from since the text.

Knox is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, heavy set and wears glasses. Authorities do not believe he has been at his home on Estesville Road for several weeks. Neighbors have also not seen his vehicle at the home.

Knox drives a 2010 Kia Rio, with unknown Texas license plate.

If anyone has information on the location of this person, please contact the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office at 903-923-4000. He has been entered in the TCIC/NCIC database as a missing person.
