SHREVEPORT, La - Friday marks the last day of school in Caddo Parish.
Krysten Abbott says, "It was kind of sad because I've been there ever since the 7th grade."
For students at Fair Park, it marked the last day the school will open as a high school campus.
Ra'mondrick Fitzpatrick says, "As the years went by I actually grew like an emotional attachment to the school."
The Fair Park Alumni Association and parents tried to get a judge to grant a temporary restraining order to stop the school's merger with Booker T Washington High School, but it was withdrawn this week.
Teachers were seen loading boxes into their vehicles and with no legal action standing in the way Fair Park will become a middle school as ordered by the school board in the fall.
Krysten and Ra'mondrick remain optimistic about next school year. It will be their senior year and they'll now be graduating from BTW instead of Fair Park.
The Fair Park Alumni Association along with a group of parents are still moving forward with a lawsuit. It claims the merger is unconstitutional and based in racial discrimination.
