Fire crews battle fire at Tri-State Iron and Metal CO.

Texarkana, AR - In Miller County, fire crews battle a massive fire at Tri-State Iron and Metal Company this morning.

"We're grateful that no one was injured and the plant and the equipment all seemed to be undamaged as well." says Vice President, Ben Glick.

He also say's the company has not seen a fire in nearly 3 years.

Even then, not one this bad.

Fire crews from Genoa, Mandelville, Trinity and Boggy Creek all aided TAFD to put out the fire.

Crews even had to work traffic on E 9th St. in Texarkana, Arkansas so firefighters could get to the nearby water hydrants.

"The fire department definitely had it under control and put some anxieties to bed. Cardboard seems to be what caught fire it was a mixture of metallic and non metallic."" says Glick.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The company's been in operation for more than 70 years, and the owners are thankful it's still standing.

Shortly after the fire was put out the company resumed all normal operations.
