SHREVEPORT, La - Shreveport Firefighters brave the bitter cold to extinguish a fire on the 2800 block of Frederick Street. The call came in around 1:30am Wednesday. The woman who lives there was able to make it out safely and alert her neighbors.
Chief Fred Sanders says it took 8 units, 23 firefighters, 29 minutes to bring the situation under control. The house is considered a total loss, and the woman will be staying with family members for the time being.
There were no working smoke alarms inside the home, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
