Library workshop teaches teens "Love is Respect"

Shreve Memorial Library Hamilton/ South Caddo Branch, 2111 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop observes Teen Dating Awareness Month, Friday, February 17 at 3:00 p.m. The theme for the event isLove is Respect.”  Teens, ages 11 to 14 will learn the habits of a healthy relationship, and warning signs of domestic violence. Domestic Violence Advocate Petrina Jenkins is the guest speaker for the event.  Visit shreve-lib.org for more. 

 

A mock domestic violence altercation, staged by students from Centenary College and Bossier Parish Community College will take place outside of the library, in the parking lot. A staged rally and protest will follow, to bring further awareness to the cause. Domestic Violence Advocates Allie Dillon and Jenkins will lead the teens in a discussion, followed by a Q&A session. Teens will participate in interactive games and refreshments will be served.
