Local businesses prep parade floats

Christmas parade to roll through downtown Texk tonight

TEXARKANA - Some roads in downtown Texarkana are blocked off ahead of Monday night's annual Christmas parade!  Over a hundred floats will entertain the crowds.

Among the float entries this year are many local businesses.  One float includes a snowman and Christmas tree, completely made of tires.  Another is a rolling gingerbread house to be filled with singing gingerbread people.

Pleasant Playland Academy co-owner Janet Goff said, "Being the competitive daycare we are, we decided to go for first this year!  But the kids loved it that's the main thing."  Rita Qualls, manager at Texarkana Tire & Wheel said, "There's so many unique things you can do with wheels and tires, so we just put it together and here we are!."

The parade begins at 7pm Monday, December 4th.
