Mom charged with child endangerment

Admits giving her 18-month-old twins adult medication, after one dies

HARRISON COUNTY, Texas - The mother of an 18-year-old twin who died earlier this month has been arrested after lab results confirmed her statement that she had given both twins adult sleep medications.

April Gibbons was booked into the Harrison County Jail Thursday on two counts of endangering a child, after lab results taken on the surviving toddler revealed the child had been given several non-prescription adult medications.

In her original statement, Gibbons admitted she gave the twins adult sleep medications. Gibbons was released on bond today, but more charges may be added, pending the results of the autopsy and toxicology tests.
