National hot dog day rides again

Every dog has its day

It's a food so popular it's been given it's own day.

We're talking hotdogs!

Wednesday morning we kicked off National Hot Dog Day by talking with Mickey Davis, Shreveport's Hotdog man, about the day that honors the hot dog.

National Hot Dog Day seeks to appreciate hotdogs. The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council created the national Hot Dog Day to honor the all-American hot dog.

Each year an estimated 7 billion hot dogs are eaten between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Last year Americans spent over 2.5 billion dollars on hot dogs, and FRANKly it's one of my favorite days of the year. It's National Hot Dog Day - a day we all can relish.
