Man charged with attempted murder after dispute leads to shooting in Natchitoches

NATCHITOCHES, La. - One man was injured and another was charged with Attempted Murder after an argument leads to a shooting in Natchitoches.

The shooting happened shortly before 9 p.m. Monday near Keyser Ave.

Leo Johnson told police he and his wife were leaving Bingo Paradise when he got into a dispute with three people at the carwash.

Johnson said as he and his wife were driving away, one of the men he had been arguing with shot at him through the back window of his vehicle.

Johnson was struck on the right side of his face but his wife was not hurt.  He was taken to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center but later transported to University Health.

Detectives later arrested 51-year-old Ervin Walker and booked him into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center on two counts of Attempted First Degree Murder.
