Sci-Port to hold second-annual Bug Bazaar

SHREVEPORT, La. - You can help Sci-Port celebrate bugs and exotic animals its second annual Bug Bazaar.

The event, which is held in conjunction with Earth Day, will take place from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22 at Sci-Port's outdoor lot on Lake St. at Clyde Fant.

Director of Revenue Programs and Outreach Christie Rodriguez said, "The Bug Bazaar celebrates bugs and the unique role they play in our ecosystem. A love and respect for nature starts in childhood, and this event shows children the importance of caring for the world we share with all living things.”   

The event will feature make-and-takes, live animals and bugs, family-friendly activities and vendors.

Over 1,000 people attended the first-ever Bug Bazaar in 2016. This year’s event will include a Bugs on Parade
Costume Contest, challenging kids to dress up as their favorite bugs. Homemade costumes are encouraged.
