Shreveport man guilty of sex crime against a child

A Caddo Parish jury has found a Shreveport man guilty of committing a sex crime against a minor.

Justin Alexander Manson, 26, charged with molestation of a juvenile under age 13 following his arrest in May 2015, was found guilty of the lesser included offense of indecent behavior with a juvenile under 13.

Manson was accused of committing sexual acts upon a 12-year-old victim over a two-month period. He has prior felony convictions for carnal knowledge of a juvenile in 2010 and failure to register as a sex offender in 2011.

Manson will return to court for sentencing on Sept. 27 after any post-trial motions are filed.

Manson faces a possible sentence of at least two years, and up to 25 years, in prison at hard labor, with at least two years to be served without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence. He also must register as a sex offender.
