ORIGINAL STORY:

Shreveport Police Violent Crimes detectives have charged two men and procured a warrant for the arrest of a third man who have alleged involvement in in two August shootings.

Back on August 12, 2017, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a shooting of two men; 40 year old Christopher Taylor and 21 year old Laderrick Samuels, both shot while in the 2300 block of Marion Street.  Each victim suffered gunshot wounds at the hands of suspects who fled the scene following the incident.  Although suffering varying degrees of injury, both men would survive their wounds.

Since the investigation into the shooting began, detectives have worked tirelessly to piece together information and follow the trail of evidence leading them to name three men as suspects in the shooting.

On August 18, 2017, investigators arrested Laderrick Samuels, who surrendered to police after detectives were able to obtain a warrant for his arrest linking him to the August 12th shooting in which he was shot, in addition to a second shooting on Portland Avenue at Stonewall Street on August 13th, a day following Samuel’s release from the hospital.  Samuels has since been charged with Principal to Illegal use of a Weapon for his alleged role in both shootings. Bond in the matter has been set at half a million dollars.

Police detectives have also linked a second man, 22 year old Tyvon Taylor to the August 12th shooting.

Authorities believe Taylor is responsible for firing the shots that struck Christopher Taylor and accidentally struck Samuels.

Taylor was arrested on August 15th by agents with the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force during a traffic stop in which multiple firearms were located.  Taylor was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on charges of Illegal Use of a Weapon, Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Attempted Second Degree Murder.

Through additional investigation and evidence, a third man, 22 year old Noel Garner, was also connected to the August 13th shooting and is now being sought by police on an outstanding warrant for Principal to Illegal Use of a Weapon from a motor vehicle and Possession of a Firearm by a convicted felon.

Bond in the matter of Garner has been set at $200,000.00  Persons with any information on the whereabouts of Noel Garner are asked to contact Crimestoppers at(318) 673-7373 or visit the website at:  www.lockemup.org
