SPD seeks suspect who robbed cab driver

SHREVEPORT, La. - Shreveport Police robbery detectives are seeking to identify a man believed responsible for the robbery of a cab driver Monday morning in west Shreveport.

Just before 10:30 a.m. on July 24, 2017, Shreveport Police patrol officers were called to the intersection of Murphy Street at Portland Avenue relative to an armed robbery of an individual. 

The incident occurred after the driver of a taxi cab operated by Action Taxi company,  picked up a passenger in Bossier City, ultimately arriving in 1400 block of Portland Avenue in Shreveport.

The driver of the cab advised officers that at the conclusion of the transport, the subject presented a handgun, pointed it at the driver and demanding the driver’s cell phone and any money they had. 

The suspect fled from the cab and remains at large.  Police robbery detectives have obtained an image of the man that based on additional investigation, is believed to have committed the caper.  Persons with any information on the identity of the subject seen in the photo is asked to call Crimestoppers at (318) 673-7373 or visit their website at:  www.lockemup.org.
